Can you believe that not all stores still accept have Mastercard or Visa method – Most notably is Costco Wholesale? But although most people know that Costco very limited with their in-store credit card payment methods, we now come up with a new workaround for you! For those of us that use our one favorite Visa or Mastercard credit card for most store purchases (aka for the collection airline miles points) and almost never have more than a few bucks in cash – Costco’s policy of only accepting cash, checks, debit card, and American Express (the preferred credit card partner of Costco) is not so convenient. However for those like me who visit Costco on a bi-weekly basis and spend all their savings here on groceries, tires, TV’s, and more, there is another way.
But there is a better way to pay at Costco! Unlike in-store, Costco.com lets you purchase online using not only with American Express, but also with your Visa, Master Card, Discover Card, Bill me Later, and Costco Cash.
How does this help you in store? Well, you can purchase a Costco Cash card online at Costco.com with your preferred credit or debit card (while earning your rewards points or cash-back), and then use in your local Costco store in place of cash when doing your regular purchases. Costco Cash is available in balances as low as $25 and all the way up to $1000.
Also, if you are looking to buy new Michelin or BFGoodrich tires at the Costco Tire Center, then you can order online with your regular Mastercard or Visa, receive any of the available rebates instantly at checkout, and then go to your local Costco for store delivery and mounting once they are delivered to the warehouse. I earned $12 extra savings on my last tire purchase by using my personal credit card + an extra $60 with the instant online rebate (with no extra promo or coupon code needed).
